Job Overview:

Hanover Street School is looking for motivated and qualified individuals to perform the duties of a Special Education Paraeducator one on one with select students as a support person in the elementary school setting for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. The job requires the Paraeducator to assist the classroom teacher in meeting the needs of the student to include academic support, behavior management, and other duties as outlined in the LSS Professional Agreement. The ideal candidate should like elementary school students, be flexible, and be willing to help and support students.

The regular work schedule is 7 hours a day, Monday-Friday with a 30-minute duty-free lunch. Paraeducators perform a duty (morning or afternoon) and cover recess for the classroom.

Paraeducator I & II Certification preferred, but not required. Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) will be provided after hire.

–          To facilitate the participation of all students in the general curriculum and to develop their abilities to function independently. 

–          To assist collaborating teacher(s) in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual growth of student(s).

–          Flexibility in working in a variety of school settings and possible travel to alternative locations as necessary.

Pay:

–          Based on LSS Collective Bargaining Agreement salary schedule.
